Let’s Pray Together for the Gospel to Spread throughout the UAE and Her Peoples
Eid Al-Adha
Soon will begin the Festival of the Sacrifice (Eid Al-Adha) mimicking Father Abraham as Muslims around the world will sacrifice an animal and give the meat to the ”poor”. In the one-day period millions of animals will be slaughtered around the world.
The Wind Blows
There are images that are hard to forget when you live here. One that has been seared into my memory is the buses full of laborers. As I travel to work in early mornings in the humid heat of summer, I pass bus after bus of workers. I sit sweating in a car with air conditioning blasting as I pass buses full of men, with windows down, the stifling hot wind of summer their only air conditioning.
I don’t want my son to join Islamic State!
Brad, who intentionally tries to meet new people, met a man named Mohammed, who was an engineer in Dubai. Mohammed was a new father. He was concerned and love his young son, and he didn’t want him to turn out like many people in the Islamic State.
Catherine’s Story -Being Intentional
She started her journey by google searching physical therapy jobs before visiting the city and applying in person. Catherine started working four days a week, which was her dream job so she would still have time for herself and to meet ladies outside of work.
Lack of Fellowship
Blessing used to spend her weekends mixing melodies for her local church choir in Nigeria, but now she barely has a day off much less a weekend to go to church.
TCKs and Transitions
Moving to a new city is a difficult task no matter where or when you move, however, when you are a teenager, that adjustment can be even more challenging. Charlie, 16, and Ruby, 14, moved to Dubai during the pandemic with their family. They had previously lived in a megacity, but now they had moved to a much more culturally-diverse megacity.
