Neighborhood Parks

Urbanization of this corner of the Arabian Desert has brought not only skyscrapers and roads, but also the beautiful areas like neighborhood parks. Here, sand surrounds you up to the edge of the Persian Gulf. Most villa type homes and buildings are sand colored. The absence of a spectrum of colors is something residents mention. However, we see this color deficiency overcome in the brightly colored sports cars and flashy advertisement signs. Another place we see this overcome is in parks as flowers, trees, bushes, and grass display their beauty.

Neighborhood parks are places where colors stand out against the backdrop of sand. Families and children flock to these parks after school, evenings, school breaks, and the weekends against the backdrop of the hustle and bustle of the city. Here they not only enjoy the feel of grass between their toes, but also, they slow down and cherish the sounds of birds chirping and bees buzzing. These parks are staffed by a security guard(s) and janitorial staff. The job of keeping a park clean and swept from the falling leaves or sand that gathers is a daily task. These workers have the daunting task of working year-round outside. Often the workers in these jobs are unnoticed and unappreciated.

 Prayer Requests

  • Pray for service workers in parks like security guards and janitorial staff to feel valued and take pride in their work

  • Pray that these workers to have a chance to hear the Great News from believers who visit their parks.
