The Perfect Father

When Edinah was six, she lost her best friend, her father. She lived in Uganda with her siblings and her mom. She tried to press into the rituals of Islam to fill the hole that her father had left behind, but she still felt empty.

At 12, her mom also passed away and she found herself completely alone. Edinah did not know how she could pay for school, food or the basic necessities. She was forced to grow up quickly.

One day, as she was walking along a dirt road near her house, a woman approached her. She began to share about God being a good Father and that he was perfect where our earthly parents lacked. Edinah was instantly filled with peace and asked to hear more. She then believed in Jesus and asked him to help her pay for her school bills. After a couple weeks God completely provided for her.

“I’ve never lacked anything,” Edinah said. “It’s almost like I’ve completely forgotten the pain of losing my parents with the joy of having a perfect Father in heaven.”

When she got older, God called her to move to Dubai. She wants to encourage the church to share with orphans about the Father that loves them and to give to those that have need if they can.

 Prayer Requests

  • Pray for those in the UAE who carry deep hurts and grief from their childhood. Pray they will hear and accept the love of the Father and the sacrifice of the Son.

  • Pray that the church will respond to the emotional and physical needs around them as well as share about their perfect Father in heaven.
