The UAE is in a 40 day mourning period following the death of her president Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan on May 13. There was a three day mourning period where schools and government offices were closed. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was voted in as the next president. There is not a lot of change expect in ruling the country as Sheikh Mohamed has carried out public affairs of the state and day-to-day decisions of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi since 2014 when his half-brother, Sheikh Khalifa, had a stroke. Pray for wisdom, insight, and understanding for Sheikh Mohamed as he continues to lead the UAE.
