There are so many ways to describe the UAE. Many different positive and negative views of the country. The nations come to the UAE for the possibility of a better life.

There are 9.7 million people across the UAE. Only 1 million are local, Emirati people. About 88% of the population are foreigners or expatriates. In Dubai 83% of the population is in the workforce. For many around the world, working in the UAE is a chance for a better life.

In 2019, the UAE received 16.7 million tourists. For tourists, the UAE is a fun, happy place to shop, play and relax.

There are 200 different nationalities living and working in the UAE. It is one of the most multi-ethnic and diverse places in the world. In one day in Dubai, you can meet people from India, the Philippines, Nigeria, France, Pakistan, Egypt, Australia, Lebanon, South Africa, Brazil, and Russia.. The possibilities of who you might encounter are endless.

This diverse population also follows a variety of different religions including Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism. The rulers are tolerant allowing people of other faith backgrounds to follow their traditions and religions.

There is much to like about the UAE. There is also much to dislike. We live in a fallen, sinful world. No place or country is perfect. This is a place to understand so that you can pray specifically and intentionally for the peoples of the UAE. Please visit this site often and grow in your understanding of the UAE and especially the peoples of the country.

Join with us in praying for God to move opening the eyes and ears of many to see and hear the gospel and believe. Pray for people to be discipled. Pray for churches to be planted. Pray for expat (foreign) workers to proclaim the gospel and make disciples when they travel back to their home countries.

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. (Romans 10:13-17 ESV)
