Saying Goodbye to Expo 2020

Expo 2020 has come to an end. People from around the globe came to take part. There were some residents in Dubai that never visited and others that went nearly every week. There were Facebook pages created to chat about the best restaurants to eat at and how to get fast track passes to some of the most popular pavilions. There were 192 pavilions, 24 million visitors, and many, many volunteers. Around the city there is a sense of loss and sadness for some and for others a sense of relief!

The closing ceremony was spectacular. Crowds packed the grounds. There were big screens set up around the park so many could take part. There was a children’s choir singing the national anthem. Dignitaries made speeches thanking all who participated making this Expo stand out. The Expo flag was taken down and presented to Japan who will host Expo 2025. One presentation started with a traditional dance and moved into modern dance to the theme song, “This is Our Time.” It was a good picture of the United Arab Emirates. Here is a clip.

Prayer Requests

  • Multitudes of spiritual conversations leading to Gospel presentations took place over the past 6 months. Pray that the Holy Spirit will bring these conversations to mind and draw unbelievers to follow Christ

  • Praise God for the scores of people who came to share the Great News of Christ during Expo 2020 to the world!
